7 Months and Counting... https://jenhargrovephotography.com/blog/2016/6/7-months-and-counting It's been seven months since I opened the studio.  It's been amazing.  I've gotten to learn so much that I wouldn't have had the opportunity to learn otherwise.  I've been photographing more pets.  I started using OCF in my outdoor sessions and I had two images seal at PPA Western District Print Competition.  So that means at least 2 merits at IPC.  We have a busy summer schedule at the studio.  Seniors, families, weddings and the Sublette County Fair.

Here's to learning new things!

....and the new adventure begins https://jenhargrovephotography.com/blog/2015/11/-and-the-new-adventure-begins This year has been a huge year for me.  I moved from the place I'd lived most of my life.  I got married.  I became a member of the PPA (Professional Photographers Association) and the IPPA (Intermountain PPA).  I entered Print Competition for the first time and received my first merit towards my Master's of Photography.  I decided to test for my CPP (Certified Professional Photographer).  But the the most intimidating thing of all, I opened my studio.  It's one of the scariest things I have ever taken on, short of becoming a mom.  But since my youngest child is now 18, the studio is in a way my new "baby".  As scary and intimidating as it is, it's also exciting to have so many new things to learn.  Things that I never had the opportunity to learn before.  It's a whole new adventure for me.  It's pushing me.  I want to be better.  I want to look back on my the work I'm doing a year from now and cringe because it's so horrible in comparison to the work I'm doing then.  I want to be great, because I know I have it in me.  I have the most amazing clients so they have to see something in me or they wouldn't be with me.  I want to give them art they are proud to display, not just pictures they hang on the wall.  I want them to be sad about the thought of replacing it.  And when I say I want people to know my name, it's not that I want them to know me, I want them to know my work.  I want to be the photographer they go to because my work is amazing, not because I was the only one around for so long.  And I'm confident that someday I will get there.  Because I am learning...more and more everyday.  these are weeks 3-5.  Check back for more!
